The concept of zero waste goes beyond just recycling and composting. It is built upon the ideas of community, sustainability, ethics, and transparency. The Development Process

User Research

From the beginning, we worked with our target users to learn how we could build an app that would actually benefit the zero waste community. We conducted user testing along the way and incorporated the feedback from zero wasters into our design.
Web Scraping

To connect our users to the existing zero waste community, we scraped information from over 13 blogs and 8 stores, generating over 2,000 blog posts and products that users can access from within the app.
Firebase

We use Firebase as our backend to store all of the data we collected. Additionally, we use Firebase user authentication which makes it easy for us to manage our users and ensures proper security of user accounts.
React Native

The app was built using React Native, a popular framework for building native mobile apps using JavaScript and React.
